Essay Workshop for the College Application

Given the rising costs of higher education, the record numbers of college applicants, and the decrease in scholarships being awarded, 2020 graduates need to differentiate themselves in the college application process. The essay is the single best way for high school seniors to reveal themselves as individuals to prospective colleges. Test Preps can help a student finish the college application process strong!

Register for our Essay Workshop for the College Application. Students will be instructed on how to write a polished essay that highlights their passions, character and convictions, and demonstrates how they can positively contribute to a college community. The workshop is a combination of 2 interactive writing classes, online editing and a private conference with our tutor. Private and semi-private options are available for students with busy summer schedules. (See below)

Seniors – During our Essay Workshop we will:

  • Brainstorm about you – your experiences, your story, your values!
  • Examine sample essays to learn about what has worked for others
  • Review the Do’s and Don’ts of writing application essays
  • Discuss the Common Application essay prompts – which one tells your story?
  • Conference with Test Preps instructors for constructive feedback and editing ideas
