Digital SAT Prep
At Test Preps, our philosophy is that small group instruction is the right way to teach students about the digital SAT. Our students are placed in small groups so that they can actively participate in each lesson and guided practice. Enrollment is limited to maintain effective small-group instruction.
This teacher-student interaction sets Test Preps apart from other SAT preparation programs. Our small group size enables instructors to identify our students’ learning styles and knowledge base and tailor instruction each week to meet the group’s needs.
dSAT Course Length
Six classes – the first class is two hours as we introduce strategies and tactics for both Reading/Writing and Math. The remaining 5 classes are 1.5 hours each.
Class Format
The first two classes begin with lessons that teach strategies that are specific to each of the sections of the dSAT. This can include guided practice and interactive drills. All students will conference with their instructor to set goals and check their progress.
Materials
College Board’s The Official Digital SAT Study Guide is included in the cost of the course. We will also provide a curriculum folder with dSAT preparation materials.
Students will complete online practice tests using Bluebook – a new digital testing application available in conjunction with their College Board account.
Homework
Approximately 3-4 hours of homework for the week is assigned at each class. Students are strongly encouraged to break it into 2-4 manageable chunks rather than completing it all in one sitting. Success on the dSAT depends in large part on the work a student puts in at home, internalizing the strategies we teach, and then conscientiously completing practice tests.
Attendance
Attendance is mandatory because each lesson builds upon the previous class. Missed classes must be made up before the following class at an additional cost of $125 for a 1.5-hour private session.
Cost
The cost of our 6-week SAT course is $600. A $25 discount is available if a student signs up with a friend! Keep in mind that missed classes must be made up before the next class with an additional fee of $125 for a 1.5-hour private session.
