SAT Prep
At Test Preps, our philosophy is that small group instruction is the right way to teach students about the SAT. Our students are placed by ability in small groups so that they can actively participate in lectures and discussions. Enrollment is limited to maintain an effective small group atmosphere.
This teacher-student interaction is what sets Test Preps apart from other SAT preparation programs. Our small group size enables instructors to identify the learning styles and knowledge base of our students, and tailor instruction, each week, to meet the needs of the group.
SAT Course Length
Six 2-hour classes
Class Format
The first two classes begin with lessons that teach strategies that are specific to each of the sections of the SAT. This can include guided practice and interactive drills. In a typical class, one hour is spent on tactics and practice for the Reading and Writing section and the other hour on Math. All students will conference individually with their instructor to set goals and check their progress.
Materials
College Board’s The Official SAT Study Guide is included in the cost of the course. We will also provide a curriculum folder with SAT preparation materials.
Homework
Approximately 60 minutes of daily homework is assigned at each class. Success on the SAT depends in large part on the work a student puts in at home internalizing the strategies we teach and then conscientiously completing practice tests.
Attendance
Attendance is mandatory because each lesson builds upon the previous class. Missed classes must be made up before the following class at an additional cost of $125 for a 1.5-hour private session.
Cost
